Extensive research into shader materials has considerably contributed to RTT's business success over the past few years and finally, allowed the VR expert from Munich to take the lead in professional high-end visualization. The international broadcast graphics software provider Vizrt was impressed by this high level of photorealistic quality and approached RTT about sharing know how and incorporating this unique degree of visual quality in Vizrt's software. The result of this collaboration is the plugin package "RTT Advanced Materials" that is currently premiering at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Las Vegas. "The integration of RTT's leading edge visualization know how into Vizrt's 3D real-time design application represents an important step forward for broadcast oriented photorealistic real-time rendering", comments Christian Huber, Director of Operations at Vizrt. "This plug-in package offers broadcasters more choice in visual quality and photorealism than has ever been possible before.
The RTT plugin will be the tool kit of choice to achieve the ultimate in realism, particularly when working in HD resolution." The plugin package provides Vizrt users with a huge variety of materials, including carbon, lacquered wood, metal, glass, bump maps and many more effects to visualize 3D objects and surfaces in cutting-edge photorealistic quality. All shaders react to light
sources, basic textures, settings and materials specific to VizArtist 3.0 design software, such as colour, shininess and opacity. In addition, Vizrt users can draw on a wide selec-tion of presets, such as ready-made wood alternatives, that allow for smooth workflows. Equipping virtual studios with different materials or fading in computer generated objects or animations on TV screens has never been so professional. "Visual quality is crucial for all businesses dealing in professional visualization", says Ludwig A. Fuchs, co-founder of RTT AG. "The payoff for years of materials research is RTT's outstanding expertise in the photorealistic visualization of materials and objects that outweighs all competitors. With the package 'RTT Advanced Materials', we are proud to offer this high level of quality also to broadcasters and graphic artists", con-cludes Mr Fuchs. RTT and Vizrt plan to expand on the "RTT Advanced Materials" package systematically in the future.
