This means that for any texture, instead of creating a bitmap version, you can use the Illustrator file directly. So you don’t have to go though the intermediate step of the bitmap. This means files sizes are massively reduced. E.g. if the Illustrator file is about 200-300k, a bitmap could end up being 200-300 meg (depending on scale / resolution), vectors can be a magnitude of order smaller.
