Few useful 3ds Max Scripts for Download


+ Some useful 3ds Max Scripts for free download courtesy of 3d artist Ivan Tepavicharov.
ModifierControl: Using this script, you can turn on, turn off, or delete certain modifier simultaneously within all objects that contain such modifier (or only within the selected objects). Use the “Setup List” button to configure which modifiers you would like the script to work with – you can change this option at any time.
VrayHDRITool: Easy way to set VrayHDRI map. Select object with VrayHDRI map and run the script.
FixMapPath: If there are missing maps within the scene this script automatically finds and fixes them. All you need to do is assign a directory that contains the missing maps (the script searches within sub directories as well) and the script repairs the paths.
RenderMask: Render black&white image where the selected objects are white and the rest of the objects are black. You can render also an animation. The script don't affect the scene materials, lights and render settings.When you press the "Render Mask" button you will be asked where to save the image (image sequence).

Introducing LightRigger For 3DS Max



+ Based on dome lighting approach for faking global illumination, "LightRigger" script of 3dsmax, is a shareware program created using the "maxScript" scripting language within Autodesk 3ds max. LightRigger provides a draft-quality, global illumination lighting system for the default scanline renderer. Unlike full-featured global illumination renderers, LightRigger uses standard 3ds max lights and components to simulate only the diffuse inter-reflection component of global illumination. LightRigger's main advantage is speed, both in setup and rendering. The core principle on which it's founded is the well known "old-school" approach of using a light dome or rig, but LightRigger takes it much, much further. Using a little-known behavior of the default scanline renderer, LightRigger is able to convert Light Rigs into Shadow Rigs, which add shadows but no light at all to the scene. This is what allows multiple Rigs to work together in the same scene....something that is impossible using any other available light dome script.
LightRigger is also unique in that objects illuminated with its Rigs are able to move and animate freely, rather than be restricted to the scope of a single, large light dome. The amount of control in the LightRigger system is unmatched, allowing you to focus on your scene instead of continually managing a loose group of lights.

Stereographer Max


+ Stereographer Max is a Stereo 3d rendering tools for 3d Studio Max and available for Max 3.0 to Max 9.0. An Stereo Image are made by creating illusion of depth in a photograph, movie, or other two-dimensional image is created by presenting a slightly different image to each eye. The three-dimensional depth information can be reconstructed from two images using a computer by corresponding the pixels in the left and right images. Stereographer script for 3ds max renders Stereographic image with ease by specifying few parameter and just flick of a button. The Stereographer MAXscript is developed by Ron Lussier and Larry Minton, who claims it's to the best among all the available stereo rendering tools for Max. The script offers you couple of handy features including; # Automatic selection of camera in active viewport, # Composites to color anaglyph, pair, interlaced & Above/Below and # Adjustable offset placement for it's automatic compositing. Schematic Material Editor 1.0 For 3DS MAX



+ Schematic Material Editor is very handy open source plugin/script for 3ds Max and is developed by Finland based young digital artist Jerry Ylilammi. With Schematic Material Editor, 3ds Max users can create very complex, animated and procedural materials n maps very easily. It is perfectly "safe" (doesn't corrupt your max files) and work well with 3ds Max 8 (32bit) and 3ds Max 9 (both 32 and 64bit). OceanWaves - Plugin for 3D Studio Max*



+ OceanWaves is a very handy plugin for 3ds Max, developed by Charles Hollemeersch. This 3D Studio Max plugin adds a new geometry object which generates a statistically generated ocean wave surface. The plugin allows you to set parameters like wind direction and strength, required detailing to control the appearance of the sea surface. The plug-in uses “Tessendorf” method, the same method used to generate the ocean surface in movies like “Titanic”. You may also look at
H2Ocean demo, a Master’s Thesis project of Charles Hollemeersch which also use the same method to generate the ocean surface.

SplutterFish's BlurBeta - Plugin/scripts Pack


+ SplutterFish, developers of the award-winning Brazil Rendering System for 3ds Max, has updated BlurBeta Plugin/scripts -Pack for & VIZ 2008 32 & 64 bit versions developed by Blur Studios and now available for free download. Some of the scripts in pack (6.29mb):
- BlurLib V1.11 (Utility) : Library required for a majority of the BlurBeta plugins.
- BlurGradient V1.06 (Texmap) : a gradient for max that has gain, center, and width settings.
- DoNothing V1.01 (Texmap) : works as a pass through in composite textures.
- AlphaCompositor V1.00 (VPost) : compsitor that composites using a pre-multiplied alpha algorithm.
- WaterCell V1.04 (Texmap) : cellular based water color splatter.
- WaterWash V1.02 (Texmap) : water color washes.
- theOnion (layers) : The Onion is Layer System that sits on top of the max layering system.
.......and many more scripts. Note that; The 64bit versions of the BlurBeta Plugins may crash upon 3ds Max 9 -64bit startup. They are looking into the cause and will fix this asap.

Max Scripts - Batch It Max and Reset XForm


+ Character Rigging specialist Paul Neale has recently released new versions of Scripts, Batch It Max and PEN Reset XForm V:0.03 Beta.
Batch It Max
Batch processing utility for Max 4x,5x,6x,7x,8x,9x. Batch it Max works something like the batch processing in PhotoShop, where you can create a series of actions, in this case a max script, and have it run on multiple files. Batch It Max will load each file, run the script and then save the file........

PEN Reset XForm V:0.03 Beta
PEN Reset Xform is designed to make the task of resetting xforms on objects easier. This is done by automating the process of locating objects that need to have their xforms orthogonalized and or normalized. Objects that have been mirrored at the object level or scaled at the object level in any way will result in a transform matrix that doesn't have all of its axes at right angles to each other or the axes are not one unit in length............

+ Just stumbled upon it and its seems to be a highly useful tool because it makes connection between two most famous software packages in CG; Adobe PhotoShop and Autodesk 3DS MAX. RDG PSD2Mat is a production proven connection between Adobe PhotoShop® and Autodesk 3D Studio MAX®. This maxScript converts layered PSD Files into a Scanline or . Named layers are converted to bitmap files and assigned to their respective material slots. RDG PSD2Mat allows you to use the sophisticated layer management of Adobe Photoshop to layout your materials in 3ds max and fine-tune the details.
Currently Standard Scanline and VRay-Advanced Materials are supported and as
on-the-fly converts Standard Materials it is possible to use RDG PSD2Mat in a MR pipeline. PSD2Mat is developed by Georg Dümlein and based on PSD2Material by Keith Boshoff.

Automatron For 3ds MAX *


- Rigging is the most important part of character animation and it’s becomes much more than frustrating when a project demands animating lots of characters. As it is not always possible to use inbuilt tools of 3d animation software’s, the CG Artists writes various scripts to avoid repeating TDS jobs while rigging and among these thousands of scripts some have evolved to be very useful and widely used by CG artists. - Map Layers is an handy Max plug-in, works with 3ds Max 8.0 or higher including x64bit version of recently released 3ds Max 9.0. Some Free MaxScripts by 3idee



- Download some free and Handy scripts for 3D Studio Max by 3idee. Camera Animator v1.5 - This script creates a new animated camera that animates along the scene cameras. Every position and rotation is stored in an animation key. It lets you render a number of cameras without making numerous network renderjobs or having to set up the video post every time. Random Replacer v3 - The same as my random replacer
script, but it now supports groups as well. There is also a checkbox if you want to delete the old objects and the undo works...and many more useful scripts.

Three New 3DS Max Scripts*



Colour correct script - colour correct applying script for 3ds Max. The new version of it keeps the diffuse colour of the material correctly so that if you don't have a texture in the diffuse of the material, it'll put the same diffuse colour into the colour correct map instead. It also has a default value of 2.2 which should save a bit of time. Lastly there's a remove colour correct button if you want to quickly convert a gamma based scene into non-gamma quickly..........

WheelRotation Script - Basically this 3ds Max script creates a Circle that you should change the Radius of to match the size of your real wheel and however much you adjust the radius or the actual path it should still rotate properly. Before you run the script you MUST create a nurbs curve as a path for the wheel to move along - then just click on MaxScript > Run maxscript and pick WheelRot.ms...................
