Photoshop Tutorial - Metallic effects (P1)

- Creating Metallic effects using filter plug-ins always has its short-comings, So if you want have more control for achieving the desired effects, than you have to do it manually and you can do so by learning some cool
by John Beardsworth about how to create artistic metallic effects using Photoshop's blending modes. Snip: "Most blending mode techniques involve self-blends (where an image is blended with copies of itself), but here’s one that blends the tones separately....I feel it works best with images where the focal point is in the highlights, which you don’t reverse, but you can try it on any type of picture"..........Tutorial Link!!

Photoshop Tutorial : TooN Renders !!

Photoshop / 3D Tutorial : Toon Renders, How too.......??
Posted by Picasa
- This is a very easy to learn and handy Photoshop Rendering
Tutorial Written by Adam Baroody. Adam Baroody explains How-to use Photoshop to Ink your Toon Renderings. Adam; This is a pretty simple and yet very effective way to ink your cell shaded renders. I found this technique to be very fast and the quality of the inking at times will out do the inking in your standard ink and paint shaders. There are drawbacks to this method and i will illustrate them later on in this tutorial but for now lets look at how its accomplished. In order for this technique to work, we need to render in layers. I use Softimage XSI these days and find it to be one hell of a 3d program that simply excells at animation and rendering. Personally i prefer XSI's Toon shader to this method but this method does at times give a slightly better look but more on that later. This technique can be used in any software package that has an incidence shader (fall off shader in 3dsmax terms) It also helps that you have a cell shader such as ink and paint in.................Link !!

PhotoShop Tutorial : Making Quick Presentation Rendering !!

Making Quick Presentation Rendering in Photoshop by Cor Steenstra......Source: CGIndia
Posted by Picasa
- A very insightful and step by step Photoshop tutorial by Automotive designer Cor Steenstra, who shows how to create quick presentation renderings in Photoshop.A fully rendered side view of a design is still key for showing off your design and perhaps having it selected to become the project winner and turned into a full size model. Cor Steenstra says; Traditionally I would create presentation sketches by using the base sketch as an underlay, over which I would then draw the clean lines, and would put some marker and pastel on it to to express the 3D form. However, if you did this quickly, it would look too sketchy, and if you did it properly it would actually become an elaborate rendering and be quite time consuming. Another risk would be that in 'cleaning up' the linework, some of the character of the original concept sketch would be lost.Without trying to take any importance away from traditional art methodologies, these days it is possible to use the original sketch to make quick and eye-catching artwork that not only represents the original raw design ideas to the max, but also does the job of jumping off the wall during a presentation. A good sell.
